Barry Clyde Pickard

Barry Pickard, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, passed away on December 3, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on January 23, 1958, Barry lived a life full of laughter, adventure, and unwavering love for his family. He was preceded in death by Greg Pickard, Oral Pickard, Clara Gerstner, Mildred Bentley, Chester Bentley, Larry Pickard, Rick Pickard, Kelly Pickard, Bud Eggers, and Dennis Eggers. Barry is survived by his wife, Kristy Pickard; his sons, Ryan, Brett, Connor, and Daniel Pickard; his grandchildren, Shad Pickard, Emily Pickard, and Madison Martin; and his great-grandchild, Everett; his parents Bob and Carla Pickard; his siblings, Natalie Beck (Gerald), Sharla Cleaver (Alan), and Susie Pickard; and many nieces and nephews. Barry’s passions were as big as his heart. He loved drinking Corona beer, caring for animals no matter how ornery they were, riding horses, and traveling with his family in their RV. He had a zest for life that was evident in the smile he wore every day. Barry also enjoyed running racehorses, a hobby that brought him great pride and excitement. Those who knew Barry will remember his humor and unforgettable stories, such as: ~ The largest farm expense being replacing broken feed buckets that took the brunt of his frustrations. ~ His overuse of spray foam during Daniel’s house renovations. ~The time Barry got a little too close while lighting a fire in a burn barrel, prompting young Connor to ask, “Dad, why did you put your head in that fire?” ~ When Bob Pickard saw a kid and a dog walking down Main Street and said, “What deadbeat parents would let their kid walk down the middle of Main Street?”—only to discover it was Barry. ~When 14-year-old Brett was running down FM 157 leaving school at 5 a.m. to retrieve a forgotten grade sheet, and Barry met him at the garage door—both surprised to see one another. ~Just two days after hernia surgery in Alamogordo, New Mexico Barry tumbled down the white sand dunes trying to show Daniel and Kristy how sledding was done. Barry’s life was a testament to love, laughter, and living fully. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. A celebration of Barry’s life will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Maypearl First United Methodist Church.
