Brinkne Nicoal Gest
October 9, 1992 - March 16, 2022
Brinkne Nicoal Gest of Red Oak, Texas was born on October 9, 1992 in Dallas, Texas to Walter Lynn and Cynthia Elaine Gest. She came into this world fighting for her life with a serious heart defect and this miracle child continued to fight throughout her life astonishing her doctors at every turn. Brinkne’s family always feared the day her heart would give out, but no one expected the day she was diagnosed with cancer. In June 2021, Brinkne faced a battle she would eventually lose. Her fight ended on March 16, 2022, but she fought to the bitter end. Brinkne was preceded in death by her grandparents: Dolores Gest, John D. and Jeanne Rhea. She is survived by her parents: Walter Lynn and Cindy Gest; brother, Jeramy (Meagan) Gest; sister, Chasti Gest (Caren Passariello); nieces, Cadence and Brooke Gest; nephew, Jaxon Gest, and grandfather, Walter F. Gest. Brinkne graduated in 2011 from Red Oak High School where she studied Cosmetology. She moved around a bit and came back to her hometown of Red Oak to settle down. She found a job she loved, working at Pete's Tire Company as a Marketing Assistant. She met a lot of wonderful people who were instantly charmed and inspired by her authenticity and enthusiasm. For over two years, Brinkne was a Green Coat Ambassador with the Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce, where she received the Ambassador of the Quarter in June of 2021. She continued her hard work with the Chamber and was the recipient of the 2021 Hachie Heart Award with the following message: "You've inspired so many of us with your strength, determination, positive attitude and hope throughout all the challenges you've faced this year. And we want to recognize you for being an example for all of us, someone with true Hachie spirit and heart." Brinkne loved going to the gym and lifting weights. She competed for the cover of Ms. Health and Fitness, where she came in 2nd place. Brinkne also enjoyed taking care of her plants, listening to music, roller skating, and having spontaneous dance parties. Brinkne - if love could have saved you, you would have lived forever! "In my dreams, I'll always see you soar above the sky; In my heart, they'll always be a place for you for all my life. I'll keep a part of you with me; And everywhere I am, there you'll be." Family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel. A celebration of Brinkne's life will be at 11:00am on Friday, March 25, 2022 also at Byrum Chapel.
