Julia Mae Batchelor was born December 4, 1922 in Jonancy, Kentucky to James and Mary Alice (Bentley) Hartt. She passed from this life on March 9, 2018. Preceded in death by: husband Jesse J. Batchelor, daughter Jessie Carol Batchelor James Edward Batchelor and grandson James Densley Cogburn II. Survived by: daughter Ann F Adams. 2 granddaughters, Suzanna Jean Welch and Judith Adell Richardson, of Apache Junction, AZ, 7 great grandchildren, Lucas Combest and wife Cassandra, Charlotte Hazzard and husband Brandon, Sylvia Moore, Daman Welch and wife Tiffany, Phylicia Smith, James Densley Cogburn III, and Marissa Leeann Cogburn and 6 great great grandchildren: Wesley, Hayden, Franky, Aishlinn, Teagan, and Henley. 2 sisters: Mary Ann Bennett and husband Jack of Umatilla, FL, and Bessie Lee Nelson of Exton, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews. Julia was an Army wife, mother and grandmother, supporting her husband, daughter, grandchildren, and country through many moves and deployments, including 3 wars. Her prayers sustained them all, in war and peace. She lived in Kentucky, South Carolina, Maryland, Kansas, Texas, Germany, and Colorado. She loved traveling and visiting London, Paris, Rome, Spain, Austria, Switzerland. Luxemburg, Belgium, and Holland. She was an Avon representative for over 50 years. Working in Colorado, Plains, TX, and Hutchins, TX. She worked on the school system in Plains, Texas. Julia supervised and/or taught in the Primary Sabbath School Department for over 50 years, in Colorado Springs, CO, Lovington, 8MM, and Oak Cliff/Duncanville/DeSoto Churches. She loved working with children and teaching them about the love of Jesus. She supervised the Dorcus Department for many years. She served Deaconess / Head deaconess in New Mexico and DeSoto. Julia loved the Lord, His Church. She was caring and was willing to help in any capacity. She eagerly looked forward to the imminent coming of the Lord and being reunited with family and friends. Now she is having a well deserved rest until the Lord comes to take her home. She will be sorely missed by family and friends.
