    Stanley Thomas Welker

    July 5, 1953 - May 1, 2020

There are no words to adequately describe what a fine man Stan Welker was. Stanley Thomas Welker was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on July 5, 1953 to Don and Tomi Welker. He was a talented athlete, and played basketball, baseball and football growing up. He graduated from Putnam City High School in 1971, as a beloved friend, classmate and athlete. Stan went on to graduate from Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana, with a degree in Business in 1975. While at Centenary on an athletic scholarship, he played basketball and baseball for the Gents. Stan enjoyed a long career in sales starting with Data Documents, and for the last 32 years at his place of pride, Magnetic Ticket and Label. He was invaluable to and loved by his partner, employees and customers all over the world. Stan spent his life with the love of his life, Kim Chambers Welker. They loved to do just about everything together, but being with their precious Mathilda, working in their paradise of a backyard, and travelling tops the list. They saw the world together, and created an amazing home they treasured. He loved her the most and the best. Stan’s children, Marmendy and Elliott, know how lucky they are to have had the most amazing Daddy. He was so proud of them and loved them so much, as well as their spouses, Tim and Deb. He never missed a concert, game or event in his children’s lives, and he was loved by so many of their friends and teachers. Undoubtedly, the light of Stan’s life was his darling granddaughter, Mathilda. He was her Pop and was in complete love with her from the day she was born. They had so many amazing times together just hanging out, going on special trips, and in South Padre Island. He absolutely loved watching her on stage and was at every performance. We know he will continue to watch over her from Heaven. Stan loved OU Sooner sports, Uncle Julio’s, South Padre Island, John Wayne movies, and a good drink. Think of him when you see or have these things. His family is heartbroken and will never, ever forget him. We love you, Pop. Number 22 in your program, number 1 in our hearts. Stan leaves behind his great love, wife, Kim Chambers Welker; daughter, Marmendy and Tim Thompson; son, Elliott and Deb Welker; and granddaughter Mathilda Marmendy Welker Thompson; his loving siblings, Dicki Welker Parks, Johnny Welker, Terri Welker Headrick, Bucky Welker, Donna Amerson Hausmann; nieces and nephews he loved so much and their families; his good, good girl, Scarlett Rose; and countless friends here and all over the world. We will properly honor our Husband, Daddy, and Pop at a later date when restrictions are lifted. Information to come.
