Amanda "Bell" Halteman-Hill was born June 26, 1923 in Dallas, TX and moved to heaven on April 15, 2023 in Saginaw, TX.

Bell was a Christian woman who loved the Lord Jesus with all of her heart. She loved reading her bible, helping with the VBS children, and serving in her church for many years.

She was a strong, independent woman. She quit school after the 5th grade to help on the farm with her parents. She then married and had 2 children. Her husband died shortly after, and she raised her children by herself. She worked 2 jobs to provide for her family at a time when there was zero help for them with food finances in the 1950s, and in the 1960s, a single woman could not buy a house without a husband. Bell taught herself how to be a seamstress and worked for an optical store. She then became more confident, studied hard, and took the test to pass and obtain her General Education Diploma. She was hired by Texas Instruments (TI) in 1963. Hard times were getting better, and her children were now grown. She retired from TI in 1989 after 26 years of service. A short time later, she was hired by Sam's Wholesale Club where she, again, retired in 2007 after another 17 years or so of service. Bell did finally buy her own house and enjoyed it for over 30 years. She loved working in her yard at her house as well as sewing. More than these, she most loved hanging out with her grandbabies.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob & Janie DeRossett; her husband, C.E. Halteman, Jr.; her son, C.E. Halteman III; her sister, Margaret DeRossett Embrey; and her brothers, Edwin, Andy, Jack, and George DeRossett.

Bell is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Jean Sanders and husband, Charlie; her brother, Dalton Earl DeRossett and wife, Debbie; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Bell's life will be at 1:00pm on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving with visitation beginning at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Edgewood Cemetery in Lancaster.
