Amelia Ann Hall was born in Lancaster, Texas on February 17, 1939. In the early morning hours of August 15, 2024, loved ones held her hands and quietly spoke to her of their deep love and immense gratitude as she peacefully departed this earth.

Amelia grew up in Lancaster, Texas with her adoring mother Ruby Gertrude Bradley and, for too short a time, her doting father, Homer Thomas Taylor Bradley, who passed away in a tragic train accident when Amelia was 7 years old. Amelia graduated as salutatorian of the 1957 class of Lancaster High School and went on to work as a secretary at Oilwell Supply in downtown Dallas, eventually rising to the position of executive assistant to the President of Oilwell. When Amelia was twenty years old, a young man named Bobby Rae Hall was driving home from his night shift at the post office when he spotted a stunning red head sitting at the bus stop, waiting to catch her bus to work. Bobby immediately turned his car around and asked Amelia on a date to the Texas State Fair (to which they returned every year without fail, eventually with children and grandchildren in tow). As neighbors up and down the street watched through their windows, Bobby and Amelia were married on May 27, 1961, in the living room of their first home together on Lindenwood Drive in Lancaster, Texas.

Amelia and Bobby had two sons: David Hall, born March 25, 1969, and Michael Bradley Hall, born September 13, 1972. Amelia's young family enjoyed touring the United States on extended road trips and celebrating everyday life with the Lindenwood Drive crew. Amelia was also a devoted daughter and took care of her mother Ruby until she passed in 1994.

Amelia gained a new name in 1991 when she was made a Grammie for the very first time. She went on to have five grandchildren: Shelby, Taylor, Katie, Holly, and Griffin. Amelia took great pleasure in spoiling her grandchildren not only with trips to the movies, shopping, and over-the-top Christmas hauls, but, most importantly, with unconditional love and admiration.

Amelia loved God, her family, her country, roses, pearls, and the color pink. Amelia was the classiest of Southern Ladies, always demonstrating the utmost grace and poise even in the hardest of circumstances. Amelia made a mean peach cobbler and loved gathering her family together over a warm bowl of beef stew or goulash. Amelia's favorite holiday was Christmas, and her family will always remember fondly her Pepto-Bismol pink Christmas tree.

In addition to many other cherished family members and friends, Amelia is now reunited with her beloved mother, Ruby Gertrude Bradley and the love of her life, Bobby Rae Hall, who preceded her in death on January 11, 2010. Amelia is survived by her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as many other friends and family members that she loved dearly. Best of daughters, wives, mothers, Grammies, and women; she will be dearly missed.

The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Monday, August 19, 2024 at Byrum Funeral Home, Lancaster. A celebration of Amelia's life will be at 10:30am on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 also at Byrum Funeral Home.

Per Amelia's request, guests are invited to wear pink in her honor. Pearls, roses, and pink feather boas also encouraged.
