Listen to Obituary

Anacleto “Cleto” Martinez Castro was born July 13, 1945 in Carrizal, Mexquitic De Carmona, SLP, Mexico and passed from this life October 18, 2026 in Dallas, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Cenobia Martinez and his father, Yldefonso Castro.

Cleto is survived by his wife, Silveria Castro; his eldest daughter, Maritza Narro; his eldest son, Noel Castro; his youngest son, Moses Castro; his youngest daughter, Ana Isabel Castro; 6 grandsons; and extended family and many friends.

Cleto was a man of strength, determination, and action. He lived his life with purpose, guided by hard work, discipline, integrity, and a willingness to help others. He was a man who believed that actions spoke louder than words, and he demonstrated that belief throughout his life.

From an early age, Cleto displayed a competitive spirit and a passion for athletics. He was a talented cyclist and cross-country runner who competed with dedication and determination. He also enjoyed wrestling, carrying the same strength, discipline, and competitive drive into everything he pursued.

He loved and enjoyed all sports such as football, baseball, soccer, boxing, wrestling, and basketball. Whether he was participating or cheering from the sidelines, he appreciated the excitement, teamwork, and life lessons that sports brought.

He also enjoyed music and could often be found listening to his favorite songs.

Cleto was a hardworking man who spent much of his life in construction. He took great pride in working with his hands, whether building, repairing, or creating something from the ground up. He had a natural ability to solve problems and was never one to sit idle. If something needed to be done, Cleto found a way to get it done.

He believed that nothing worthwhile came without effort. Hard work, responsibility, respect, and integrity were values he lived by and worked to instill in his children. He raised them to be well-mannered, responsible, independent, and hardworking, leading by example rather than words alone.

Beyond his strong work ethic, Cleto was known for his generosity, straightforward personality, and willingness to lend a helping hand. He earned the respect of many through his character, determination, and the way he treated those around him. He was a man who stood by his principles and took pride in providing for and caring for his family.

Cleto came from a large family of eleven children, with two sisters and nine brothers, and was the sixth child in the family. Although some of his siblings preceded him in death, the bond of family remained an important part of his life.

Cleto’s legacy is one of perseverance, strength, sacrifice, and love. His life was not defined simply by the work he accomplished, but by the values he passed down, the people he helped, and the family he raised.

He taught his children that respect is earned, that hard work builds character, and that a person’s actions are the true measure of who they are.

While his presence will be deeply missed, the lessons he taught, the memories he created, and the example he set will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, family, and all those whose lives he touched.

His work here is done, but his legacy will continue for generations to come.

The family will receive friend from 12:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel in Lancaster, TX.

Cleto’s funeral will be at 12:00pm on Friday, October 30, 2026 also in Byrum Chapel with graveside service to immediately follow at Edgewood Cemetery in Lancaster.
