Obituary

Barbara Ann Holman, 74, of Lancaster, TX, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 19, 1948, in Dublin, TX, the daughter of David and Lorraine Pettijohn.

Barbara Pettijohn graduated from Lancaster High School in 1966 and married her high school sweetheart and lifelong partner, Roy Holman, shortly thereafter. She began her career working for the DEA in Dallas and went on to work for the Lancaster ISD and finished her career as a paralegal for the IRS, retiring in 2014.

Barbara was a devoted wife, loving mother, and, most notably, an incredible grandmother known as "GiGi" to her three precious granddaughters. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Roy Holman; her two children - daughter Robbi Holman of Lancaster, TX and son David Holman, daughter in-law Julie Holman and their three daughters Grace, Olivia and Addison of Rockwall, Tx. She is also survived by her sister, Jodie Pettijohn and brothers Bo and Ted Pettijohn.

Barbara was proud to be a Lifetime Member of the Lancaster PTA, a YMCA Volunteer (as a swim official and ultimate swim-mom) and member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as the Worthy Matron from 2014-2015.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on April 10, 2023, at Byrum Funeral Home in Lancaster, followed by a private service at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in memory of Barbara to the Dementia Society of America by mail to PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901, or online at www.DementiaSociety.org/donate .

Barbara will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her legacy of kindness, love, and faith will live on in the lives she touched.
