Betty Sue Brashier, 96, of Bulah, Texas passed away on August 21, 2025. Born Betty Sue Hassell on June 6, 1929. Betty married Donald Jones Brashier in December of 1948. They moved to Lancaster, Texas in the late 1950s, and they spent the next 52 years there together. She worked briefly at Goodman Paper Company in Dallas, but the majority of her labors focused on family, gardening, cooking, volunteering at the Lancaster Outreach Center, sewing, quilting, fishing, shelling pecans, and rooting for her beloved Mavericks. In December 2003, she married Royce Miller of Lancaster, and they remained lovingly married for the next fifteen years. The last 5 years of her life were spent in a beautiful, small home on her childhood farm in East Texas. We all count the many years we had with her as a blessing, and we will cherish her memory ever forward.

She is preceded in death by her siblings, Myra Rawlinson, Frances Jorgensen, Dorothy Hassell, Herbert Hassell; and her husbands, Donnie Brashier and Royce Miller.

She is survived by her children, Suzanne Haffey, Bruce Brashier, and David Brashier; her grandchildren, Brandon Brashier, Wade Haffey, and Jordan Brashier; her stepchildren, Wade Miller and Susan Miller Richard; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and neighbors.

All of the family sends our heartfelt appreciation and love to the entire staff at The Arbors in Rusk, Texas, and the caregivers at Heart to Heart. It was wonderful to witness such dedication, attention, and empathy.

Family will receive friends on Monday, September 8, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Byrum Funeral Home in Lancaster, Texas. The celebration of her life will be held on the same day and location beginning at 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the North Texas Food Bank.
