Betty Jewel Simmons was born the youngest of 14 kids on February 2, 1931 in Darwin, OK to Jerry and Emma Cole, and she passed from this life on December 12, 2025 in Red Oak, TX.

Betty had a lot of activities that she enjoyed. She was an avid bowler and loved to square dance. Betty also loved old school country music such as Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, and all their comrades. One of her favorite things, though, was a little gambling. She liked the cards, slot machines, and could evidently throw a mean hand of dice!

She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Wayne Middlebrooks.

Betty is survived by her son, Danny Middlebrooks; her grandchildren, Brian Middlebrooks, Christopher Middlebrooks, and Kaitlin Middlebrooks; and her great-granddaughter, Hazel Koushel.

A celebration of Betty's life will be at graveside in Red Oak Cemetery at 1:00pm on Friday, December 19, 2025.
