Billy James Swaim was born July 24, 1944 in Tom, OK to George Clarence and Bonnie Rachel (Barnett) Swaim and passed from this life on March 9, 2022 in Mesquite, TX.

Billy was a longtime member of Landmark Baptist Church. Billy was devoted to his wife Debra and cared for her until her passing in 2005. His failing health in later years prohibited him from participating in church as he would have liked. His passions were fishing and hunting, and he always had many stories to tell about both. He loved children. Though he had none of his own, he loved his nieces and nephews. He spent many years working in manufacturing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Swaim; his sister, Hazel Marie Wells; his brother, Danny Ray Swaim; his nephews, Clarence Wells, James Wells; and his parents.

Billy is survived by his nephew, Harold Wells Sr. and wife Betty; his niece, Mary Wells; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
