Bobbie Ruth Williams, at the age of 95, flew to heaven on wings of our beloved "Buzzard" to meet her Lord and Savior along with her dearly beloved husband, Tommy Williams, and other family members on March 24, 2025, at 6:45 p.m. She was born on August 19, 1929 to Albert L. and Annie Viola Hilton in Pittsburg, TX.
Bobbie married Thomas A, Williams on November 22, 1947 in Pittsburg, TX. They later moved to the city of Lancaster, TX where Tommy was employed at General Motors Corporation. They were married for 32 years sharing a deep bond for their Christian faith. She was a long time and active member of Central Baptist Church in Lancaster.
She worked until the age of 83 in the field of electronics. Bobbie began her employment at Collins Radio in 1956 followed by Omega-T Systems. She retired from Poly-Spede Electronics in 2012 where she was the lead line operator making circuit boards for large military communications and surveillance.
Bobbie enjoyed attending her husband's pony league baseball games where he was the coach.
She was an avid reader and had a passion for knitting. Her specialties were house shoes, toboggans, and scarves. She shared these treasures with family, friends, and those in need.
She was a strong-willed woman never giving up on any challenge that came her way even to the point of mowing her own yard until the age of 89.
Bobbie was preceded in death by beloved husband, Tommy; her parents, Albert and Annie; her brother, Charlie; her nephew; Robert; and her great-nephew, Liam.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Smitherman and husband Paul; her grandson, John Thomas Hubbard; her granddaughter, Leslie Hubbard; her step-grandchildren, Arron Smitherman and wife Sylvia, Tifanny Hudson and husband Travis, Justin Robinson and wife Michelle; her great-grandchildren, Haley Hubbard and Jacey Hubbard; her step-great-grandchildren, Zane Hudson, Emilee Hudson, Matthew Smitherman, Michael Smitherman, Rebel Lucus and husband Chase, and Gage Robinson; her nephew, Chuck Hilton and Sue; her niece, Tonya Simmons; several great nephews & nieces, cousins, and cherished friends along with her longtime companion, Jim Matthews.
A celebration of Bobbie's life will be at 1:00pm on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel in Lancaster.
