Carrie Lorene "Polly" Cave of Waxahachie, Texas left this earthly home to join her Heavenly Father in the wee hours of the morning, June 15, 2017. She was 93.
Polly was born in McKinney, Texas on October 25, 1923 to Preston Franklin and Annie Mae (Harpole) Yates. She was the third child of this family with an older brother, Lorin Yates, and sister, Annie Marie Yates-Perry. In 1945 she married Doyle Raymond Cave, Sr shortly after his return from World War II.
To this special union was born an amazing family consisting of a son, Doyle Raymond Cave Jr., (Angelia) daughters Carol East (Jim) and Betty Nail (Danny).
To further bless this family Polly was blessed with eight grandchildren: Amy Lorene Fuller (Brian), Kelly Gatewood (Jason), Shelly Murphey (Steve), Brandon Cave (Brittany), Preston Cave (Sara), Lori Watson (Nick), Kim Lopez (Joseph), Rusty East (Kourtney). Eighteen great-grandchildren: Danielle Tucker (Chris), Blake Nail, Waylon Fuller, Brody Fuller, Harlan Fuller, Cole Watson, Conner Watson, Case Watson, Perry Cave, Titus Cave, Norah Cave, Gavin Cave, Indie Lopez, Hudson East, Graham East and Charlotte East, Jon Daniel Gatewood, Jennifer Gatewood, Kathryn Gatewood, Steve Murphey and Trevor Murphey. An amazing great, great granddaughter, Briar Rose Tucker, also brought joy to Polly! A special sister-in-law, Annabelle Eldridge, also survives Polly. She had numerous nieces and nephews that she enjoyed special times! As quoted by her grandson: "God blessed us all with an amazing matriarch!" She will be greatly missed by all. To list her attributes as a loving Christian woman and friend to all would not be possible with pen and paper.
Polly was preceded in death by her parents, bother, sister, husband, and son, Bobby W. Cave whom she adored.
Polly's service will be held at Byrum Funeral Home, Lancaster Texas, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, the 17th of June followed by interment in Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina, Texas.
