Charles Ray Rich was born on February 5, 1935 in Cleburne, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Edwards Rich and Anna May "Pat" Rich, his sister Barbara Rich Vermillion, his brothers Ralph and Roger Rich, Grandson Alex Rich, and son Ronald Ray Rich. He is survived by his wife of about 67 years, Inell Marie Armstrong Rich, his son, Charles E. Rich and wife Teresa, Daughter Beverly Rich Meeks and husband Bob, Daughter-in-law Lisa Rich, Grandchildren Tirzah Rich Wise, Natacha R. Meeks, Nicky Rich, Christopher Meeks and wife Autumn-Marie Hope Fredrickson Meeks, Elizabeth Anna Meeks Wimberly and husband Shane, Andrew Rich, Darby Rich Bensley and husband Marco, Ryann Rich. 10 great grandchildren Chloe, Kobe, Trevor, Hannah, Joleen, Mallory, Liam, Elisheva, Richie Ray, and Gabriel. And 1 great great grandchild Wrenn Atticus Kemp.
Charles attended Seagoville High School when he met his wife, Inell. He then attended Harding University and graduated from SMU with an electrical engineering degree. He worked at Texas Instruments, Collins Radio, Industrial Nucleonics as a program manager, and owned Alexander Salvage Co. Other jobs he had were a grocery store delivery boy at age 9, he taught math at a college, was a cab driver until he had a gun pulled on him and held him up (in Dallas), Layed track for the Santa Fe railroad, and threw newspapers on a paper route, and was a Church of Christ preacher in Larue, Texas.
Charles volunteered as a song leader and a youth group leader at church and was a member of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Plano Civic Choir, winner of many Toast Master awards, and Baptized his daughter, Beverly.
He enjoyed church, singing, playing guitar, reading, travelling, football, building and designing, philosophy, joking and laughing, cooking, learning new words, playing racquet ball, and he absolutely loved learning.
Charles Ray Rich passed away early Tuesday morning October 11, 2022 peacefully in his sleep.
You were an amazing son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, co-worker, boss, and overall great person. We love you Charles and you have impacted us all.
