Christopher James Tibbs, 51, of Ovilla, Texas, passed away on June 10, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to his family and community.

Born on July 25, 1973, Chris lived a life marked by service, loyalty, and a deep love for those around him. He began his law enforcement career after graduating from Navarro College Police Academy in 1994. Chris served the City of Ferris, Texas from 1995 to 1997, and then the City of Lancaster, Texas from 1997 to 2008. In 2002, he began part-time work with 24HR Wrecker Service while still serving the City of Lancaster. His commitment and leadership eventually led him to the role of General Manager, where he remained until the day of his passing. His love and loyalty to the Boone Family and 24HR Wrecker Service was palpable.

Chris was known for his big personality, generous heart, and his devotion to those he loved. He married the love of his life, Lisa Tibbs, on June 26, 1993. Together, they built a strong and loving family that was Chris's greatest pride and joy. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa; their children, Lindsay Tibbs Stacks and her husband Marty, Christopher Lee Tibbs and his wife Trista, and Mary Burns and her husband Mason; and his cherished grandchildren, Parker, Weston, and Riley Burns, and Eleanor (Ellie) and Elijah (Eli) Tibbs. "Grandpa" was his favorite name, and he wore it with pride, always eager to spoil and support his grandchildren in every way.

Chris also leaves behind his loving parents, Jan and Harold Markham; grandmother, Marie Dewbre; sisters, Jennifer Zanine and Heather Alsup (and husband Toby); Uncle Kevin Dewbre (and wife Peggy); his mother and father in law, Brenda and Charles Bentley; Mike and Pat Mays, Marie Boone, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Chris Gene Tibbs; grandparents, Wayland Dewbre, James Tibbs, and Evelyn Lindeman; and nephew, Kamden Roy Skroh.

Chris's passions included fast cars, loud music, "getting swole" at the gym and enjoying life to its fullest. He had a youthful spirit that never faded, and his energy and enthusiasm were contagious. Above all, Chris had an immeasurable love for his family, and he found true purpose and happiness in caring for and spending time with them. The void left by his passing is profound, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

The visitation will be held at Byrum Funeral Home in Lancaster, TX, on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A graveside Celebration of Life will follow at the Pavilion in Edgewood Cemetery in Lancaster, TX, on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM.

The casket will NOT be opened at the service at the Pavilion.
