Clifford Sampson Hawkins II was born March 25, 1939 in Covington, Texas. He passed from this life on October 3, 2025 in Flint, Texas at home with his wife, Ann.

CS was a caring and loving man. He was often referred to as Uncle C, Pops, or PawPaw. If he was at work, even his boys had to call him by CS. There were too many dads to just say dad. In his younger years, he was raised in Itasca, TX where he grew up, went to school, had fun, and learned how to be a man! He traveled to Dallas in his younger years.

He loved fishing and camping! CS lived to provide all he could as well as watching his children grow up! Later, he did the same with his grandchildren. One of his greatest joys was to see new life being brought into his eyes with every birth. Just when you thought he couldn't possibly love anymore, he had more grandkids and the love grew…even from his first family and extended family!

He enjoyed eating at El Fenix as the kids grew up, but honestly, he loved eating anything as long as it was with family. That was important to him. In looking at photos, there's almost a consistent theme. He was always holding a drink, mostly tea! In his later years he enjoyed traveling and even went on a boat cruise! CS loved life, and no one could deny that!
He was so much about family that he asked all three kids for their blessing to remarry, of which they all gratefully gave with honor. His happiness was very important to them!

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Ann Eaker Hawkins Shultz; his parents, Clarence Redmond Hawkins II and Corine Bayse; his brothers, Clarence Redmond Hawkins Jr of Alvarado and Eddie Rocky Hawkins of Joshua.

CS is survived by his children, Clifford Dale Hawkins, Kathy Lorine Hawkins Whatley, and William Doyle Hawkins; 10 grand-children; one great-grandchild, Alvin John Hawkins/Longoria, who was close enough that he spent a lot of time with; several more great-grandchildren; his sisters, Molly Faye Harper of Amarillo, Ruby Lee Thomas of Jacksboro, and Patsy Ruth Love of Jacksboro; his brother, Donald Wane Hawkins of Jacksboro; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He is also survived by his wife, Ann Bruton Hawkins and her daughters, Wendy, Linda, and Pamela who he loved unconditionally as well as extended family too numerous to count!

The family will receive friends from 9:00am to 11:00am on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Byrum Funeral Home in Lancaster. A graveside service celebrating his life will be at 12:30pm on Friday following visitation at Itasca Cemetery.
