Deborah Sue "Susie" Hargis was born January 26, 1957 in Pomona, CA and passed from this life into the arms of her Savior on December 3, 2024 in Dallas, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Doris Ruth Shaffer; her brother, Daniel Shaffer; and her sister, Doris Ann Shaffer.

Susie is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Michael E. Hargis; her sister Kay Egbert; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Beyond her family, Susie had many other loves. Reading was one of her favorites. She always had a book ready and probably had a thousand books in their library collection, not to mention the ones she had online. Susie also served in children's ministry for several years guiding many of those precious souls to a relationship with Jesus. This "love" was the greatest joy of her life.

The family will greet friends for a viewing at 1:00pm on Monday, December 9, 2024 at the Pavilion in Edgewood Cemetery, Lancaster, TX. A graveside service will be immediately following at 2:00pm at the Pavilion as well.
