On the morning of April 29, 2023, Delfina Lydia Vega passed away peacefully due to natural causes at the San Juan Nursing Home in South Texas. Delfina was 79 years old.

Delfina was born in La Sara, Texas to Virginia Chavez and Lauro Luna in January, 1944.

Delfina was a feisty and independent soul until the day she died. She had a petite frame and was stubborn as heck. She loved reading her Bible, doing puzzles, talking on the phone, dancing, Mexican bingo, telenovelas and gossiping with her son. She had a 7th grade education and worked at Hagar Slacks and Monte Alto ISD. She raised three sons. Everyone is happy that she is home free and painless. She will be missed.

Delfina is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Refugio Vega II, her brother Luis Luna, and daughter-in-law Stephanie Garza.

Delfina is survived by her brothers, Larry Luna and wife Lali, Leo Luna and wife Imelda, her sister Rafie Luna Martinez and husband Manuel, and sister-In-law Marti Luna; her beloved sons, Rolando Garza and wife Elizabeth, Kevin Garza and wife Mary, and Refugio Vega, III; her grandchildren, Kira Carbajal and husband Romeo, Dito Garza and wife Robyn, Kevin M. Garza and wife Clarissa, Julia V. Garza and Dezarae Gallegos; and her great-grandchildren, Olivia Carbajal, Rosalyn Carbajal, Benjamin Garza, and Emilia E. Garza.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday May 6, 2023, at the Byrum Funeral Home Chapel in Lancaster, Texas
