Delia Bell (Whited) Robinson, also lovingly called "Henny" by her grandchildren and most that knew and loved her, passed from this life in to the arms of her Savior December 26, 2019 at the age of 89.
She was born to Esben Lee and Lucy (Crook) Whited November 18, 1930 in Van Alstyne, Texas. The family later moved to Cedar Hill when Delia Bell was a young girl.
Babysitting was Delia Bell's first job and at the age of seventeen, she went to work in Lancaster for Minnie Ada Robinson (who later became her mother-in-law) at Robinson Rest Home, where she met her future husband, Lloyd Dewitt Robinson. She and Lloyd married April 13, 1952 in Lancaster. Through the years Lloyd and Delia Bell owned and operated several businesses including a handicap boys home and an amusement park (Robin Hood Park) in DeSoto. In addition they owned the Dairy Diner in Cedar Hill. When Lloyd's mother was ready to retire they bought her nursing home, the Robinson Rest Home and operated it until retirement. Delia Bell attended Mountain View College and earned her nursing home administrators license.
During retirement, Delia Bell enjoyed babysitting some of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other very lucky children, which most still kept in touch. They loved their "Henny" and her famous "sweet tea" or as most call it "Henny Tea". She was also well known for her "Fresh Apple" cakes.
