Donna Gail Lanier, age 70, was reunited with her father in Heaven on March 1, 2022. She lived a life that focused on Family, Friends, and Love. She taught her family about how the simplest things in life can bring you the greatest joys.
Donna was brought into this world on January 24, 1952, in Dallas, Texas. She attended and was a part of the Wilmer Hutchins High School Class of 1970. She married Dewey Earl Lanier, Jr., in Waxahachie, Texas, on August 28, 1970. Throughout her life, Donna worked at Sears, Cooks Drapery, and Millet the Printer where she retired in 2003.
Donna had a lot of things that brought enjoyment to her life. She enjoyed cooking, baking, making candy for others. Her delicious cakes were often talked about by so many. She also enjoyed crafts, sewing, helping her daughter out at her boutique and salon, visiting her mom at the nursing home, making mums and playing bunco with her "Bunco Ladies". Donna was a woman of many talents, who was happiest when doing things for others.
Donna will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who exemplified the true meaning of selflessness throughout her life. She had the deepest love for her family. She was so proud of her family and anyone that knew her could tell you that because there was never a conversation that she didn't talk about her kids or grandkids. Her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren. There was no denying the bond she had with each and every one of her grandkids. They enjoyed all the special outings: going to arcades, movies, and bowling. They knew if they ever needed anything their "Greema" would be there without hesitation. Often, they would not have to even ask for anything because she was already on top of making sure all their needs were met. She leaves behind so many memories that her family and friends will forever remember.
Left to cherish her precious life is her husband of 51 years, Dewey Earl Lanier, Jr., of Lancaster, Texas; son, Randy Huffstutler of Maypearl and mother of his children, Tawnya Stanley of Midlothian; daughter, Prissy Talley and husband Tony of Maypearl; 5 grandchildren, Tyler Talley, Morgan Huffstutler, Taylor Huffstutler, Tucker Talley and Tabi Talley; Donna's mother JoAnn Harris-Cabe of Lancaster and numerous, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family and friends who all loved her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her father, Billie Jack Harris; grandparents, Ida Mae and Homer Fields, Minnie Mae & George Harris.
