Dorothy Louis Hudson was born in Granbury on November 29, 1924 to Louis Walton Hudson and Alyne Dabney. Dorothy married AC Howell on February 22, 1944. She passed away on February 17, 2022.

Dorothy lived a life full of love for Christ & family. She was a devout Christian, loving wife & mother, and a doting grandmother and great grandmother. She was very creative, caring, and always welcomed anyone and everyone into her home at any time.

Dorothy always questioned where her kids got their creativity. All she had to do was look in the mirror. The monthly birthday parties she would host would have many themes and decorations which may have included stick figures made from pipe cleaners with cut out faces glued on. She did not use store bought items. She used her creativity and her imagination. Her parties became so well known that her grandchildren's friends would beg to come.

Dorothy had a song for every occasion and a song was always in her heart. Music was a big part of her life, and she passed that on to her children. If she didn't know a song that was appropriate for a specific occasion or event, she would write one. She always had a song to sing.

Dorothy implemented the cradle roll class at Church. At the time, many did not believe babies could be taught, but she pushed and asked to be given a chance to try. Whether it was through repetition or song, she taught many babies the word "Bible." For some, Bible was their first word.

Dorothy is survived by her son, Andy Howell; her daughter, Julie Jones & husband Gary; her son in law, Ric Jamison; 9 grandchildren; and 24 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Samantha Jones; her husband, AC; her great granddaughter, Lillian Johnston; her grandson in law, Michael Johnston; her brother, Charles Hudson; her daughter in law, Linda Howell; and her daughter, Sheri Jamison.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 10-11, followed by the Celebration of life at 11:30 at Maypearl Church of Christ, 6091 FM 66, Maypearl, TX

Burial will be at the Granbury Cemetery, 200 E. Moore St, Granbury, TX. at 2:00pm. Enter through the gate on Houston Street.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Arms of Hope, Down Syndrome Society, or Autism Society.
