Earl Dudley Chambers, Jr., 85, passed away on October 23, 2026, in Athens, Texas. He was born on June 4, 1941, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Dudley and Dorothy Chambers.

Earl began his career as a math teacher before moving on to operations at Braniff Airlines. When his children were still young, he followed his entrepreneurial spirit and started his own heating and air conditioning business, Mechanical Environment and Service Company (MESCO). He owned and operated it for many years in Lancaster, Texas, where he grew up.

Away from work, Earl loved the outdoors. He was happiest on the golf course, in a deer stand, or out on the water with a fishing line in hand.

Sports were another great love, and Earl shared that love generously. He coached his sons' baseball and soccer teams, and in their younger years he coached Pat's softball team as well. On those fields, he touched the lives of many young people, teaching them teamwork, hard work, and good sportsmanship, lessons they carried long after the final whistle.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pat; his parents, Dudley and Dorothy Chambers; and his brother, Delbert Chambers.

Earl is survived by his sons, Chip Chambers and wife Dot, and Chet Chambers and wife Bethany; his grandsons, Dudley Chambers and wife Melanie, Dalton Chambers, Dayton Chambers and wife Kendra, and Luke Chambers; his great-grandchildren, Autumn, Bentli, Ella, Archer, and Ezra Chambers; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of Earl's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at the Byrum Funeral Home Chapel in Lancaster.
