Etta Pauline Thompson was a beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend during her 89 years of life. She passed away from this earthly world in the early hours on October 23rd, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. 89 years is just a small blip in time as she received a joyous welcome in her new eternal home in Heaven and once again in the arms of her beloved husband. She was born September 12, 1932 in Breckenridge, TX to Alex Reuben Sanders and Lela Mae Roberts.

Pauline was the personification of a woman that spent her lifetime walking in the footsteps of Christ. Her Christian faith was an essential part of her life and was devoted to reading the bible every day. She was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her Church, family, and friends. Her greatest desire in life was for her family to meet again in heaven for one big family reunion. She loved sitting in her chair and took comfort in watching the birds, especially hummingbirds, squirrels, and anything else happening outside. Her love of small dogs is well known but she found room in her heart for love of big dogs and a cat too. The enjoyment she had for strawberry shakes and hamburgers was undeniable, but nothing can be compared to the happiness she felt from talking to family. She had this amazing way of making everyone feel special, loved, cared for and like you were her favorite person in the whole world. She was humble, had a sense of humor and a virtuous woman. Her smile will be sorely missed.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband Walter B. Thompson who were married for 69 years 3 months and 11 days; her parents Alex and Lela Sanders, her brothers Don Sanders and James Sanders, and son-in-law William Pruett. She is survived by sister Ima Allison and sister Joyce and husband Buck Underwood. She is also survived by 5 precious daughters and 1 special son and their spouses; daughter Glenda and husband Tony Quintana; daughter Pat Pruett, daughter Kaye and husband Richard Sandifer, son Walter and wife Amy Thompson; daughter Caren and husband Jim Chapman; daughter Kathleen and husband Bill Lackey; numerous grandkids, great grandkids, great-great grandkids, and a very large extended family.
We will all miss her dearly, but we are so grateful for the time we were able to spend with her. We will always feel her presence in our hearts and know that she lives on in her family and friends.

Family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am, Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Brown Street Church of Christ in Waxahachie, TX. A celebration of Pauline's life will follow at 11:00am at the church with a graveside beginning at 3:00pm in Baker Cemetery in Kemp, TX.
