Frances Sophie Gerlich, 94, of Lancaster, died at the Villages of Dallas on February 12, 2019. She was born in Abbott, Texas on September 26, 1924 to Frank & Gracie Pibil. Preceded in death by parents and husband William Vernon Gerlich.
Mrs. Gerlich was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi of Lancaster since its beginning. She was a charter member and a member of the Altar Society. Frances was also a member of American Legion-Wynnewood Post 511, American Cultural Society, Dallas/Ennis Fraternal Council, Hermann Sons of Texas, and KJT No. 111/KJZT No. 108.
Rosary 7:00 PM Thursday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Her life will be celebrated at a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM Friday at St. Francis with Rev. Albert Becher as celebrant. Graveside services at St. Mary's Cemetery in West, Texas.
Frances is survived and missed by nieces Patsy Makovy, Shirley Blanchard, Lisa Pibil Mynar and Kay Weeks; sisters-in-law Dorothy Gerlich, Albina Macha; extended family and numerous friends.
