It is with deep love and remembrance that we announce the passing of Frances Marie Wier, age 89, of Lancaster, Texas, on May 26, 2025.
Marie was born on July 9, 1935, to Lewis Edward Roushey and Laura Alice Cheshier. She and her four siblings, Margaret Louise Roushey Bandy, Laura O'Delle Roushey Davis, William Lewis Roushey, and Charles Wesley Roushey attended school in Lancaster. Marie was a member of the community for nearly nine decades and was known for her unwavering strength and enduring devotion to her family.
Marie married Billy Wier, the love of her life, on September 5, 1949, at the young age of 14 years! They were married 45 years when Billy passed away on March 24, 1994. Billy and Marie had a son who died at birth on May 26, 1953. Their daughter, Vickie Ann Wier, was born on December 19, 1956, and passed from this life on June 8, 2024.
Billy and Marie could always be found having a good time fishing and hunting and hanging out with family and friends. She will be fondly remembered for her quick wit and her stories of days gone by. Marie loved her home and her family heritage.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son and daughter, and all of her siblings. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and friends who will continue to carry her memory forward with affection and gratitude.
The family will receive friends from 9:30am to 10:30am on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Byrum Funeral Home. A celebration of Marie's life will be at graveside at 11:00am Saturday following the visitation at Rawlins Cemetery in Lancaster.
