Gene Ray McLeroy was born November 17, 1942 in Lone Oak, Texas to Bazz and Malissa (Henley) McLeroy. He passed from this life on May 12, 2018.
Gene graduated from East Texas State University in Commerce, TX in 1966. He served in the Army during Vietnam war from 1966-67. He was the Physical Education Teacher at West Main Elementary in Lancaster, TX from 1968-1985. He retired from Quality Cabinets in Cedar Hill, TX in 2009.
He became "Pop" to his grandkids in 2006, which was the job that he enjoyed the most.
Gene is survived by wife Lynda McLeroy; daughter Janet McLeroy of Nacogdoches, TX; son-Neil McLeroy and daughter in law-Amanda McLeroy of Humble, TX; grandkids: Raelyn and Wyatt McLeroy of Humble, TX.
