Geneva Nell McWilliams was born November 17, 1925 in Hopkins County, Texas to William and Carrie Mae (Johnson) Freeman. She passed from this life on July 21, 2018.
Geneva married Eugene McWilliams in Dallas, Texas on October 19, 1945. They were married over 51 years when Eugene passed away.
Moving to Dallas as a young woman, Geneva worked most of her life at Sears Roebuck in Dallas. She was a faithful and loyal member of Cold Springs Church of Christ in Lancaster. Her faith was foremost in her life, and she loved spending time with her friends from church. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. The meals she prepared for family get- togethers were unbelievable. She was a wonderful and loving mother, always there for David and Rhonda. Be it a basketball game, tennis match, band concert, awards presentation, graduation, illness…Mom was always there. We could not have had a better mother.
Geneva was preceded in death by parents; husband Eugene McWilliams; brother W. C. Freeman. She is survived by son David McWilliams & wife Helen; daughter Rhonda McWilliams; sister Bobbie Shelley; grandchildren Carrie McWilliams, Katelyn McWilliams, and Kolleen McWilliams; step granddaughters Kellie Block and Stephanie Allgood.
David and Rhonda would like to thank Jamie McWilliams for the support provided to Mom during her three-year stay at Red Oak Rehab. Mom loved Jamie and his support has meant everything the past three years. We also thank Brenda Gibbs for continually visiting Mom and bringing her beloved chihuahua, Angel, to see her. Thanks to Cold Springs Church of Christ for the support of Mom with visits, church services, and prayers over the last three years. Thanks, also, to the many family and friends for visiting and supporting Mom during her years in Red Oak Rehab. The visits you provided for Mom meant so much to her.
