Gerald Wayne Casey was born on February 3, 1945 in Cairo, Illinois. His parents were O.E. and Eva Jean (Lange) Casey. He passed from this life on July 30, 2021 in Red Oak, Texas.

Gerald was a truck driver for many years. He then enjoyed working with his son, Robert, doing irrigation and landscaping before retiring several years ago. He loved spending time and talking to his many friends and loved ones. Gerald never met a stranger. He was soft spoken but very sociable. He had a heart of gold and loved to help people.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia Carol Casey; and their eldest son, Gerald Wayne Casey, Jr.

Gerald is survived by his son, Robert Casey and wife Melody; his grandchildren, Jacob and Emma Casey; his sisters, Cindy Plemons and Donna Price; and many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, August 9, 2021 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel. A Celebration of Gerald's life will be at 10:00am on Tuesday, August 10 2021 also at Byrum Chapel with interment immediately following in Holy Redeemer Cemetery in DeSoto, TX.
