Gerald (Jerry) Lowrey, 83 of Lancaster, TX passed away on October 3, 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Gerald was born to Prebble Aline and Sidney Earl Lowrey on April 9, 1942. Gerald had many professional accomplishments in his life, but he talked the most about his 54 years working in the auto business. He won many awards during his time working for Ford Motor Company including: Parts Managers Top Award for 10 years in a row, Top 20 Parts Wholesale Dealer Award every year for 25 years, Ford Blue Diamond Award for 15 years in a row, Top 5 Wholesale Dealers Award in the US for 25 years. As far as his dedication and hard work are concerned, he was considered the G.O.A.T. (Greatest of all time) parts manager with Ford Motor Company.
His family and friends will remember him as a kind and loving man. A man with a heart bigger than anyone could imagine and his willingness to help anyone in need. He valued hard work, honesty and staying true to your word. One of his biggest loves was spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was an outdoorsman through and through, from his love of fishing, hunting, farming, and yard work, to just sitting in the garage and admiring the birds. He also loved living in "the fast lane", by spending his free time admiring and working on cars, riding motorcycles, taking the boat out and slinging all the kids off the inner tubes (after a strict educational course of proper safety hand signals while being in the open water of course), water skiing in his younger days, and traveling all over the world. Throughout his life, he made sure to instill strong values in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, leaving a legacy of strong-willed individuals to carry on his legacy. To his wife, he was the absolute provider; he made sure she never went without, and although he would make a fuss about most things she asked for, he hardly ever told her no, and even if he did say "no," somehow whatever she wanted, he would surprise her within the next few days. He always had a toothpick in his mouth, even offering it to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, probably a little too early for their age. His love for nicknaming everyone and everything was one of his funniest quirks. Almost everyone close to him had a special nickname, and he would nickname stores like "Homer Depot", "The Man Store", "The Barrel of Crackers", and so on.
Gerald is survived by his loving wife of 49 yrs, Freddie Gail Lowrey; his 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.
