Gerald Wayne Tuley was born at St. Medical Center in Dallas on May 12, 1943 and passed from this life June 13, 2025 in Italy, Texas. Gerald Wayne grew up in Lancaster, Texas. Throughout his youth, he was an avid sportsman playing basketball, football, baseball, and softball. On August 31, 1962, he married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Ann Green, in Frost, Texas.

Gerald Wayne and Ruth Ann made their home in Lancaster. In 1965, they welcomed their first son, Scott, and in 1972, they welcomed their second son, Kelly, into the world. After moving to Mineola in 1982 for a year, they returned to their hometown of Lancaster where they lived until 1984 when they moved to Red Oak where they currently live. Once they moved back to the area from Mineola, Gerald Wayne became a district manager for the Dallas Morning News. He retired from the paper with over 50 years of service.

Gerald Wayne was a lover of life, his family, and his friends. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He and Ruth Ann shared 62 years of marriage and were inseparable. Most of all, Gerald Wayne loved his grandkids and great-grandkids. Their Pops never missed one of their events. He was always there to cheer them on.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Stella Tuley.

Gerald Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Ruth Ann Tuley; his son, Kelly Tuley and wife Monica; his son, Scott Tuley and wife Angie; his grandchildren, Justin Tuley and wife Mary, Austin Tuley, Raegan Morris, Bradyn Morris, Alisha Tuley, and Jason Moore; his great-grandchildren, Aubrey Moore, Wyatt Tuley, Thomas Moore, and Ryder Moore; his sister, Evelyn Smith and her husband Ken; and numerous extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Byrum Funeral Home in Lancaster. A celebration of Gerald Wayne's life will be at 10:00am on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at the Cowboy Church of Ellis County in Waxahachie, TX.
