Harold "Harry" George Morris was born at Camp Truscott, United States military base in Salzburg, Austria, on September 7, 1949 to George and Maria Morris. His early years found him living in Austria and France while his father continued to serve in the U.S. Army. The family eventually returned to the United States to Aniston, Alabama when Harry was six years old. His family remained in Aniston, and after graduating from high school, he pursued an engineering degree at Auburn University in Alabama. At the beginning of his junior year, he met his Texas bride, Lana Stinson. They were married December 20, 1969. Harry continued his studies, graduating from Auburn University in 1971 with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering.

He worked as an Industrial Engineer for food manufacturing companies like Hormel, Safeway Stores Distribution Centers, and eventually became the director of engineering at Portion Troll Foods in Mansfield, Texas. In 1994, again Harry returned to his alma matter Auburn University completing his MBA in Auburns historic Graduate Outreach Program. Following his graduation, he was invited by the head of the MBA program to help with the startup of the MBA Advisory Board. Harry served as chairmen of the board for two years and remained on the board for 15 years. After a successful career where he quickly moved into executive roles and eventually retiring in 1997 as COO. After his retirement, he and Lana started their own business as executive recruiters, successfully working for food and beverage manufactures around the world for eighteen years.

Harry loved to travel. He loved playing golf, cheering on his Auburn Tigers, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Rangers. Harry was very outgoing and loved people. He literally never met a stranger. His greatest joy was serving in the local parish, sharing at every opportunity his faith in Christ and love for the Catholic Church. Harry is proceeded in death by his parents George and Maria Morris, his sister Ingrid and brother Lt. Col. Mike Morris - Priest Chaplain, U.S. Air Force. He is remembered in love by his wife Lana of 55 years, his sons and their families, Chris and Amy Morris, son Jake, Macky Morris, Marley, Porter, and Mack Morris. As well as, his niece Natalie Reid and family, Dillon, Brodie and Townes Reid, and nephew Ryan Stinson.

Harry had a knack for fixing just about anything—with both his hands and his heart. Whether it was a leaky faucet, a squeaky hinge, or someone having a tough day. He was the family handyman, always ready with a tool in hand and a warm smile. There was nothing he couldn't mend—cars, cabinets, or a heavy spirit. Offering words or scripture or words of encouragement:

"So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:31-34.

A visitation and rosary will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, August 8, 2025 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel in Lancaster. A funeral mass will be celebrated honoring Harry's life at 1:30pm on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waxahachie.
