Henry Lawrence Landrum was born December 16, 1929 in Lubbock, Texas to Albert and Dovie (Griffin) Landrum. He passed from this life on December 26, 2016.

He graduated from Floyd High School, attended SMU for one year on a basketball scholarship, and then graduated from Draughn's Business School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Henry married Norma "Jean" Tresp on June 12, 1953. They lived in Wilmer almost all of their 61 years of marriage until her death in September 2014.

During his life, Henry worked at Ferris Brick Yard, Mack Truck, Eagle Lincoln Mercury, Ford Motor Credit and then retired from the Dallas Sheriff's Department in December 1999 at the age of 70 (after working there for 17 years).

Henry was a deacon at First Baptist Church in Wilmer and led the congregational music for many years when there was no minister of music on staff. He also served several terms on the Wilmer City Council and one term as Mayor Pro Tem.

Henry is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Rhonda Landrum (Oak Leaf, TX) and one daughter, Elizabeth (Landrum) Scarborough (Greenville, TX); three grandchildren, Jennifer (Landrum) and Cory Seigler, Melissa (Landrum) and Derek Rickman and Austin Scarborough; one great grandchild Madison Seigler; one brother Lonzo Landrum; one sister-in-law Beverly Tresp, as well as other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents and wife Jean Landrum.
