Homer Jean Davis, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many passed away on November 14, 2024 in Kyle Texas.

Homer was born on December 6, 1934 to Homer Lee and Winnie Eugene Davis. He graduated from Lancaster Highschool in 1953. He married his high school sweetheart Greta Raye Rives on July 14, 1954 in Wilmer Texas.

Homer studied at SMU and North Texas State. He served in the United States Army after graduating from the U.S. Army Intelligence School on January 31, 1958. Homer served in Counterintelligence Service during the Korean War.

Homer was a member of the Little Elm Button Memorial United Methodist Church where he served on the board and volunteered to care for the grounds. Homer retired from the Little Elm ISD at the age of 79.

With a family background in farming, Homer always enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. Fishing and the Dallas Cowboys were his two favorite pass times. Photography was his talent, even going back to the streets of Korea. However, being surrounded by family brought him the most joy.

Homer was preceded in death by his father, Homer Lee Davis; his mother, Winnie Eugene Davis; and his brother, Clifton Ray Davis. He is survived by his wife, Greta Raye Davis; his son, James Lee Davis and wife Peggy Annette; his daughter, Laura Rene' Ferrante and husband John Allen; his grandchildren, Samantha Jean Davis, Sunny Ann Oppermann and husband Seth Daniel, James Alexander Ferrante and wife Brynn Laura, Jaret Mitchell Deagen and wife Katlyn Alice, Joseph Avery Ferrante, Hanna A'nnell Deagen, and Jack Andrew Ferrante; his great granddaughter, Sadie Ann Oppermann and great grandson, Kyler Henry Deagen.

Graveside services will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, December 7, 2024 in Trinity Cemetery in Wilmer, Texas.
