I. Z. "Ike" Craddock was born October 26, 1931 in Mount Pleasant, TX to Mose and Mary Ann (Simmons) Craddock and passed from this life on February 3, 2021 in DeSoto, TX.
Ike was a hard worker with a loving spirit that everyone loved. One of his favorite things to do was watch the Texas Rangers play baseball. He went to many games at the Ballpark in Arlington to enjoy an afternoon in the sun and support his Rangers. After retiring from Laurel Land Memorial Park, Ike began working with Edgewood Cemetery and Byrum Funeral Home in the early 1990s where he built incredible friendships. The Byrum Family loved him and considered him family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lurelene; his son, Major Craddock; his parents; his brothers, Talmage Craddock, Oscar Craddock, Henry Craddock, Hastin Craddock, Finis Craddock, Leslie Craddock, Harrison Craddock, and Riley Craddock; and his sisters, Vivian Inez Craddock Smith, Naola Craddock Burnett, Jessie Craddock, Josephine Craddock, Claudia Craddock, Vera Craddock, Eva Mae McGill, Eliza Ross Brown, Pearlice McGill, Alice McGill Craddock, and Connie Craddock.
I.Z. is survived by his brother, Mose Craddock, Jr. of Arlington; his sister, Flordia Dansby of Phoenix, AZ; his nieces, Mary Barnes and husband Rudolph of Brownwood, TX, Linda Kay Craddock Heard of DeSoto, TX, Diana Jones and husband Tracy of Mesquite, TX; his grandson and twin granddaughters he lost touch with over the years; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, and relatives.
Viewing will be from 10:00am to 11:00am on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Byrum Funeral Home with Celebration of Life beginning at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Edgewood Cemetery in Lancaster.
