Irene Santoyo loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed into eternal life on Friday, February 21st. 2025 at the age of ninety. Irene was born October 20, 1934, to Jose and Maria Torres Martinez in San Luis Potosi, Mexico and was the second of four children. She is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years Raul Santoyo. Irene and Raul married in 1951 and together they raised eight children in a home filled with immense love, laughter, and unwavering faith.
Irene's greatest joy was caring for her family. She was a humble woman with an admirable wisdom. She always had a kind response to any situation, a loving hug, a heartwarming smile and overall provided reassuring comfort when needed.
Irene had an unshakeable faith in God, and she trusted that he would always be at her side. She had a lighthearted spirit; always took the opportunity to make one laugh and enjoy the moment. Her most cherished times were spent visiting with her family and celebrating numerous family birthday celebrations.
In addition to her commitment to family and faith, she was delighted when caring for her plants, cooking her favorite meals, and talking on the phone with her siblings.
Our family leader has finished her earthly job. Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness! (Matthew 25:23).
Irene has left a legacy of faith, love, humbleness, perseverance and is now in God's everlasting presence with her loving husband Raul and their beloved daughter whom both missed dearly Maria Magdalena Santoyo.
She is survived by her children, Raul (Mary), Rafael (Yolanda), Alfonso (Anna), Patricia (Edgardo), Claudia (Ricardo Jr.) Dolores and Arturo (Diana).
She was a cherished grandmother to Jose Raul, Ricardo, Carlos, Oscar, Alfonso Jr., Javier, Andres, Ricardo III, Vasthy, Melissa, Erica, Jessica, Rebeca, Patricia, Karina, Ariana. Irene was also blessed with seventeen great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Isabella, Samantha, Savanna, Andrew, Lewis, Emiliano, Olivia, William, Elize, Gael, Jacob, Thais, Jason, Judith, Nicholas, and Maverick.
The family will receive friends from 3:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel with Rosary beginning at 4:00pm. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am on Monday, March 3, 2025 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lancaster. Interment will immediately follow in Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas.
