J. L. Oxford of Red Oak, TX was born January 26, 1938 to William and Florence (Bugg) Oxford. He passed from this life on September 28, 2019 in Waxahachie, TX.

J.L. had many loves. He was a Mason, a member of Pleasant Run Baptist church, and a member of law enforcement for many years. J. L. was involved in the JFK investigation and a member of the Dallas County Sheriff's Posse. He had 7 years of service with Ellis County and an impeccable 33 years with Dallas County.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Iva Hall and her husband Wayne; his grandson, Daniel Oxford; and his nephew Mike Hall.

J. L. is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Jean; his son, Joel Oxford; his daughter, Kim Creech; his grandchildren, Amanda Bramhall, Dewayne Oxford, Craig Mahone, and Chad Mahone; his great-grandchildren, Lexi Mahone, Jade Robertson, Gunner Mahone, Westan Bramhall, Ashlin Bramhall, Kyleigh Mahone, Rylan Oxford, and Ryleigh Oxford; and his niece, Penny Trott.

Funeral service will be 2:00pm Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends at 1:00pm prior to the service.
