Jack Holt Jr. was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on January 1, 1957. Jack peacefully passed away on February 4, 2025, at age 68, in Fort Worth, Texas. Jack was the firstborn and played the part of big brother to a large group of siblings.

Jack dedicated his early adult life to serving his country as a radio operator in the United States Air Force.

It was in the Air Force that Jack met the love of his life, Arlene. After a whirlwind romance, Jack and Arlene were married on September 20th, 1975. Two years later, Jack and Arlene welcomed their first child, Angel, with John following two years later.

In 1979, Jack responded to his true calling and became a gospel preacher. Over the next 25 years, Jack ministered to half a dozen Churches across Texas and Louisiana. Throughout his life, he was a beacon of faith and devotion, touching the lives of many through his sermons and spiritual guidance. His commitment to the congregations he served was profound and felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Jack was also known for his presence online as Ahnog, a character he developed while playing board games in the late 1970s. His love for online gaming provided a unique way for him to connect with people of all ages, sharing stories and imparting wisdom.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 49 years, Arlene; his daughter, Angel and husband, Calvin; his son, John and wife, Allison; and his grandchildren, Julie-Ann, Sydney, and Avery. Jack is also survived by his brothers, Joe, John Mark, Harry Jr., and Darrel; and his sisters, Sandy and Tamara. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce; his stepfather, Harry; and his sister, Susie.

Jack's legacy of faith, service, and community will continue to live on through his family and the many lives he touched. His memory will be cherished and remembered as a guiding light that brought warmth and enlightenment to others.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel. A celebration of Jack's life will begin immediately following at 11:00am. Interment will be at 10:00am on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.
