Jaime Jackson Pulaski – 86, of Austin, Texas, passed away August 27, 2021.

Born October 19, 1934, in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico, Jaime was preceded in death by his parents, John Crawford and Eva Calderon Pulaski; and his younger sister Jane Andrea Pulaski Selfridge, and his son, Wayne Jackson Pulaski. He is survived by his brothers Joseph Raymond Pulaski of San Bernardino, CA and George Fernando Pulaski and his wife Inger of Dallas, TX.

Jaime served in the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command. As a Crew Chief, his squadron was responsible for the maintenance of the B-52 Stratofortress, a long-range, subsonic jet-powered strategic reconnaissance bomber. His assignments included tours in Vietnam/Cambodia and Thailand. Jaime retired after 21 years, as a Senior Master Sergeant at Carswell AFB in Fort Worth, Texas.

After military retirement, Jaime worked 15+ years for Aviall, Inc. now a subsidiary of The Boeing Company, serving as an aircraft maintenance mechanic and quality assurance inspector. He also became an active member of the Freemasons, a social and philanthropic international organization.

Intelligent and resourceful, Jaime came to the United States at the age of sixteen. He did not speak English, at the time, but learned the language in a short eight months. One year later, at the age of 17, he enlisted into the U.S. Air Force as a non-commissioned officer. He became an expert at aircraft and automotive engine maintenance and TV/radio repair. Years later, he learned to fly and became a multi-engine flight instructor, an active day trader, and mastered advanced Sudoku puzzles – all hobbies he thoroughly enjoyed.

After his retirement, Jaime dedicated much of his time and money toward the election of "El Peje," Andrés Manuel López Obrador in Mexico. He was actively involved in Obrador's first Presidential campaign (2006), second (2012), and his final victory in 2018. After the Election of Obrador, he maintained a vacation home in Mexico where he frequently visited family and friends.

Jaime had a wonderful sense of humor and love for mischief. He was often known for the nicknames he assigned to friends and family and the gifts he brought to and from his trips to Mexico – a habit established long ago that brought joy to many.

He was a good man, a Good Samaritan, and a great father who left his unique imprint on the world and in our hearts.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Sheila Diane Pulaski Ferguson (husband William) of Hilton Head, SC; Lori Ann Pulaski Petrone (husband Thomas) of Austin, TX, Sandra Lynn Pulaski Bohanon (husband Mark) of Austin, TX, and Dr. Jaime Joe Pulaski (wife Debra) of St. Cloud, FL; nephew Tomas David Pulaski (wife Nora), Alvarado, TX; thirteen grandchildren: Brandon Michael Harper, Washington, DC; Guy Alan Bohanon, Jacksonville, FL; Justin David Sutherland (wife Eva), Cypress, TX; Drew Chandler Ferguson, Austin, TX; John William Ferguson III, Hilton Head, SC; Melissa Jill Adamcik Lane (husband Blake) of Austin, TX; Kenneth Bryan Adamcik, Los Angeles, CA; Kimberly Dawn Patalano, Ponte Vedra, FL; Kristin Michelle Pennington, Corsicana, TX; Michael Canon Wineriter, Houston, TX; Terry Nicholas Wineriter, Houston, TX; Christopher Ryan Pulaski (wife, Elizabeth), Jacksonville, FL; Sarah Jessica Pulaski, Jacksonville, FL; nine great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family in Texas, California, and Mexico.

Special appreciation to Edward and Alma Garza Rocha of Harlingen, Texas, for their kindness, friendship, and hospitality for many trips made between Mexico and the US over the past several years.

A private blessing was held for family members, pending Jaime's burial service at Arlington National Cemetery.
