Madam Janet Bamidele Adeyiga nee Aboderin ~ 84 years ~ was born into the family of Aboderin in Ago Iwoye on 30th March 1940 and passed from this life in Lancaster, Texas on 15th May 2024.
Her father Pa Folorunso Aboderin was a schoolteacher. Her mother Madam Alice Aboderin nee Jacob was a kolanut and cocoa trader.
Mummy was a conscious and devoted Christian, an Evangelist by calling. She was a member of the Evangelism Group and Elders Forum at Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry, Lagos. She was also a member of the Wisdom Group at Redeemed Christian Church of God, Living Word Parish in Mesquite, TX.
Even when faced with the challenges of life, she held on to her faith in Almighty God. She was a loving and virtuous mother to her biological and nonbiological children. She taught everyone around her morals. She was a great teacher, prayer warrior, and a pillar of support to her children and family. She will be remembered for the genuine love she showered on her fellow humans, less privilege and widows while on earth, and her devotion to the service of God.
Madam Janet is survived by her 3 children, Olufemi, Adenike, and Felix; her 12 grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, friends, and in-laws.
A celebration of Janet's life will be at 10:00am on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel in Lancaster with visitation beginning at 9:00am. Interment will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Lancaster. A reception will be held at the Lancaster Senior Center following the interment from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
