Jean (Jeanie) Marie Vitale, aged 60, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026, in Ellis County, Texas.

Born on September 1, 1966, in Germany, Jeanie was the daughter of a retired career Army soldier, George Vitale. Her family had the unique privilege of traveling to various military stations before settling down. At the age of three, the family moved from Ft. Hood, Texas, to Lancaster, the town she would proudly call home. Jeanie grew up vibrant and involved, playing in the Lancaster High School band and graduating with the Class of 1984.

Jeanie dedicated nearly 30 years of her life to serving others as a pharmacy technician at the Dallas VA Hospital, where her hard work and compassionate nature touched countless lives.

Outside of work, Jeanie’s greatest joy was her family. She deeply loved spending time with her friends and loved ones, especially during the legendary Reyna and Vitale family gatherings—with Thanksgiving holding a particularly special place in her heart. She treasured the vacations she took with her siblings to Branson, South Padre, San Antonio, and Florida. An avid fan of country music, she never missed a chance to go to concerts, especially to see Darius Rucker and Dan and Shay. Jeanie also enjoyed the quiet beauty of her hobbies, which included hunting, fishing, and the delicate art of glass etching.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, George A. and Margaret “Louise” Vitale.

Jeanie is survived by her loving siblings and their spouses: her sister, Lynne M. and husband Roy F. Reyna, her brother Edward F. Sr. and wife Teresa Vitale, and her brother, Bruce G. and wife Mary E. “Beth” Vitale.

Jeanie's absolute greatest pride and joy were her many nieces, nephews, and their growing families. She leaves behind a legacy of deep love as a cherished aunt to her nieces and nephews: Mathew, Andrew and Yuri, Rebecca and Chad, TJ and Heather, Rick and Hollie, Jordan and Tiaralys, Chelsie and Ben, Ashley and Manny, Lindsey and Hunter, Bailey and Carter, and Brittany. She is also survived by her great-nieces and nephews: Mariah and Dale, Baylor, Kyler, Konner, Nathan, Natalia, Boston, Olivia, Sakura, Santino, Damon, Jake, Chase, Brendan, Joshua, Justin, Jesse, Ryder, Ridge, Gavin, Katy, Hannah, Shaylynn, Braelynn, and Riley; and her great-great-niece and nephew, Hallie and Saint.

A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be from 11:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday, October 24, 2026 in the St. Francis of Assisi Parish Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Jeanie's honor to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
