Jerry Michael Donoho, 90, passed away on Friday, at his home June 7, 2024 near Lancaster, Texas. Jerry was born on August 8, 1933 near Sampsel, MO in Livingston County to Frank and Corda (Whorton) Donoho.

He is survived by sons Mike Donoho and wife Barb, Midlothian, TX; Mark Donoho and wife Diane, Italy, TX; daughters Vicki Gardner, Hutchins, TX; Laurie Mah and husband John, Dallas, TX; ex-wife Deanna Donoho, Lancaster, TX. Also surviving are grandchildren: Cristina Minter and husband Chris, Midlothian, TX; Chandler Austin Donoho and wife Ali, Georgetown, TX; Brynja Mah, Denver, CO; Audra Mah, Dallas, TX; Alannah Donoho, Dallas, TX; Ireland Donoho, Italy, TX; Tori Ober, Midlothian, TX; great grandchildren: Leela Minter, Midlothian, TX; Willy D, Trevor, Evelyn and Shane Donoho, Georgetown, TX; Anarose Alarcon and Dean Mize, Midlothian, TX. Jerry is also survived by his brother, Jim Donoho and wife Judy, Trinity, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Leonard Donoho and William Donoho.

Jerry grew up on a farm and attended a one room school. When he was in the 6th grade, he rode a horse early every morning to start a fire in the wood stove. He graduated from Trenton High School and Trenton Junior College in Northwest MO. He was on the college basketball team.

Jerry did basic training for the US Army at Fort Riley, KS and spent the rest of his duty at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. After being discharged, he worked at the glove factory before being employed at the state bank in Chillicothe, MO. He was active in the Jaycees and the democratic party.

He was manager of the first Sears store in Chillicothe which began an amazing career that took him to Kansas City, then Texas. There, he was head of appliance sales over the southwest United States region. After retirement he had a large mowing operation where he mowed commercial property.

Jerry enjoyed quail hunting in the Poosey Conservation area where he grew up in Livingston County, MO. In later years, he and his three brothers met every year in the spring to hunt mushrooms in the same area.

He was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church where he served as eucharistic minister.

Jerry always had a large vegetable garden and shared its rewards with family and neighbors. He gave fresh produce to the St. Vincent dePaul Food Bank, mowed the church yard and every fall for years took his tractor and flatbed wagon to the church's fall festival to give rides to the children.

Jerry was awarded the Catholic Diocese of Dallas Bishop's award for service to the church in 2014.

Jerry was a member of AA since May 27, 1997. His home group was Town South in Lancaster. He did service work helping others, and was known as "The Donut Man" for his Sunday contribution along with much fellowship. He is dearly going to be missed by many.

Graveside service will be at 10:00am on Friday, August 23, 2024 at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30am on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lancaster.
