It is with a heavy heart that we announce on Thursday, November 17, 2022, Jimmie Joe (Cooper) Chaffin passed away peacefully at her home in Lancaster, Texas, at the age of 74. She was surrounded by her loving husband, Don of 56 years and many cherished family and friends.

Jimmie was born on July 6, 1948, in Corsicana, Texas, as the middle-child to John T. & Minnie Cooper. She loved her parents and all her siblings dearly. She treasured spending time with her family at gatherings and reunions, and she devoted many weekends working with her dad and siblings doing the Cooper Express train activities all over north Texas. They won various awards together and enjoyed putting many smiles on the faces of the kids and adults that they served while doing these events. She was preceded in death by her parents, John T. & Minnie Cooper; brother, Jackie Cooper; sister, Patricia McCarroll; sister, Mary McCullough; sister-in-law, Billie Cooper; and brother-in-law, Jerry McCarroll.

She will forever be remembered by her husband, Donald Ray Chaffin, of Lancaster TX; daughter, Tina Marie Lopez of Red Oak, TX; granddaughter, Amelia Berry and husband, Damion of Red Oak, TX; granddaughter, Amiee Brewer and husband, Aaron of Red Oak, TX; great-grandchildren, Myra Lopez, Makenzie Berry, Kristopher Lawrence, Brooklyn Berry, Grayson Brewer, and Cooper Brewer.

She also leaves behind a brother, Dickie Cooper; brother-in-law, Coy McCullough; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, extended family, and many precious friends.

Jimmie maintained a great collection of all things Elvis Presley and Coca-Cola. She picked up anything to keep if it had a picture of Elvis or a Coke on it. She also enjoyed the 4th of July because her birthday was so close to it. Those things were some of her favorites.

Anyone that knew Jimmie can attest that she was fun, full of life, spunky, and loud. Everyone felt her big existence when you were around her. She cared so deeply for her family and friends and had a passion for doing things for others. She truly had a servant's heart and loved putting a smile on her loved ones faces. Jimmie never met a stranger and was not one to shy away from making new friends. She was always warm and welcoming to anyone. This is what will be missed the most about her.

Her final earthly celebration will be held at 10:00am on Monday, December 5, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Red Oak.
