Jimmy Ray Johnson was born August 13, 1939 in Dallas, TX and passed from this life on March 25, 2021 in Dallas.

He graduated from Woodrow Wilson high school and received his business degree from SMU. Jim retired from Southwestern Bell with 30 years of service as a repair tech. He then spent 15 years with FedEx. Jim served in the Vietnam War at White Sands Missile Range where he received an award for outstanding marksmanship. Jim was also a member of First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayndell and Pauline Johnson; his sister, Nelva Harrison; and extended family, Wayne and Wanda Owens, Michael Owens, Patsy Owens Perkins.

Jim is survived by his wife of 44 years Kay; his daughters, Stephanie McClain and husband Gary, Jennifer McGrath and husband A.J., Jessica Johnson and fiancé Joey Renfro; his grandchildren, Justin Wayne, Sydney, Jack and Kennedy; and his Great-grandchild, Kourtnee.

Family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel. A celebration of Jim's life will be at 11:00am, Wednesday, March 31, 2021 also at Byrum Chapel with interment to follow at 1:30pm in DFW National Cemetery.
