Joe Allen Walters was born September 24, 1938 in Lyon County, Iowa to George and Grace (Groen) Walters and passed from this life on December 19, 2020 in Dallas, TX.

Joe was a lover of life. He was full blood German and encompassed all aspects including the notorious temper and drinking beer with his brothers! Joe loved his brothers and spending time with them and family. He loved golfing and was a league bowler. More than these sports, though, Joe enjoyed tinkering in his garage on cars, mowers, and anything else with an engine or without.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Oma Daisy Walters; his sister, Lieda Kruger; and his brothers, Henry, Leslie, Ervin, Dick, and George Walters.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Jodene Lewis; his daughter, Derel Woolverton and husband Richard; his son, Roy Walters; his son, William Walters; his step-son, Jerry Gant and wife Liz; his step-daughter, Judy Larson; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Edward Walters and wife Lavonne, Glen Walters and wife Norma, Darrel Walters and wife Marge, Alvin Walters and wife Joy, Arvin Walters, and Ronald Walters and wife Sandy.

Family will receive friends from 10:00am to 11:00am, Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel in Lancaster with a celebration of Joe's life beginning at 11:00am.
