John Harris Flanery was born December 16, 1932 in Weston, TX and passed from this life on March 9, 2024 in Waxahachie, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Hortense Flanery; his daughter-n-law, Lydia Stockbridge Flanery; and his grandson, Anthony Lynn Flanery.

John is survived by his wife of 72 years, Mary Louise Flanery; his children, Ricky Lynn Flanery, Mark Anthony Flanery and wife Billie, and Regina Gay Burton and husband Brent; his brother, Leslie Ray Flanery and wife Becky; his grandchildren, Alicia Millican and husband Sean, Daniel Flanery, Makayla Franklin and husband Coleman; and 7 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of John's life will be at 2:00pm on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at First United Methodist Church in Lancaster.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in John's name to the American Heart Association.
