John David Shelton was born June 12, 1933 in Shattuck, OK to Andrew Guy and Anna Pearl (Nichols) Shelton and passed from this life on June 17, 2020 in Lancaster, TX.

John was a family man and a man's man. He was a truck driver and loved to build things. He was very much considered a "jack of all trades." He played the guitar and even tried his hand at the fiddle. John loved horses and was raised on a farm. He also spent some time serving his country in the Army.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Peggy.

John is survived by his daughters, Kim Kajihiro and spouse Kerry, Lyn Evans and spouse Stacy Atkins, Terri Shelton and spouse Kenny Inmon, son Lyndon McCollum and wife Veronica, daughter Lahoma Vaughn and husband Scott; his grandchildren, Brandon Kajihiro and spouse Shannon, Brooke Mann and spouse Jason, Andrew Derrick, Kelsey Allen and spouse Chase, Amanda Hodges and spouse Jonathan, Payden Bertrand, Chance Inmon, Paxton Bertrand, Garrett Evans and spouse Kayla, Cameron Montalbo, Shelby, Taylor and Toby; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service celebrating John's life will be at 11:00am, Friday, June 26, 2020 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel.
