Jose Ezequiel “Cheke” Rodriguez Hernandez was born September 14, 1980 in Mexico and passed from this life on September 21, 2026 in Lancaster, TX.

Cheke was a master carpenter by trade who was known for his skilled hands, his strong work ethic, and the pride he took in every piece he built. To many, he was the person you called if you needed something built right. To his family, he was the one who built a life full of love, strength, and care. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, son, and brother, and a loyal friend to all who knew him. Jose had a generous spirit, and quiet strength, and a way of making those around him feel safe and supported. He will be remembered for his craftmanship, his kindness, his beautiful heart, but most of all, his unwavering love for his family…especially his two baby girls.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ofelia Rodriguez and his grandmother, Christina Rodriguez.

Cheke is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Madrigal; his daughters, Shenoa Sharis Rodriguez and Ashlynn Lynette Rodriguez; his parents-in-law, Eduardo and Micaela; his sister-in-law, Griselda Madrigal and husband Carlos Sauceda and their daughter, Jazzmyn Sauceda; his brother-in-law, Miguel Madrigal and wife Kelly Gonzalez; his brothers, Javier Rodriguez and wife Jessica, Misael Villafan, Saul Villafan; his sister, Selina Villafan; his grandfather, Eusebio Rodgriguez; his cousin, Oscar Elizalde; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

His family will celebrate his life through shared stories and memories at a visitation from 2:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, September 25, 2026 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel in Lancaster, TX.
