Joshua R Lewis, Jr. of Lancaster, Texas was born May 6, 1935 in El Paso, Texas to Violet Branch Owen and Joshua R Lewis Sr. He passed from this life on February 2, 2018.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Floy Free Lewis; daughters Phyllis Diane Reeves, and Kara Lewis Hamilton and husband Wayne; grandchildren Ryan, Rachel, Michael and Matthew Reeves; sister Mary Lewis Myrick and husband Danny and nieces and nephews and their families.

Josh started his barber career in November 1960, and retired and closed his barber shop on Elm Street in Lancaster in August 2017. As a barber, he was known for his excellent flat tops, and found his profession to be a natural format to dialogue with his customers about the love of God.

Our husband, Daddy and Papaw enjoyed playing and watching baseball and golf, loved the desert West and all things western, and was an avid gardener. He accepted with confidence eternal life in Christ, and loved his family to the end.

He often told us that when Jesus called him home, "just take me down to Byrum's, put me in a box and keep a rollin." We honor him today by simply celebrating his life and fellowshipping together.
