Joyce Faye Reed Rogers of Athens, Texas, went home to meet her Lord & Savior on July 19, 2021. She was 80 years old.

Joyce was born on March 21, 1941 in Houston, Texas to Robert & Dorothy Reed. She was the oldest of five siblings: Carolyn Odom, Mary Federlein, Jesse Reed, & Dottie Williams.

Joyce was a devoted wife, mother & Grandma. She loved working in her yard, being outside in the sun, listening to music, & playing Skip-Bo with her friends. She had one of the biggest Servants heart of any one you could meet, and she loved to cook. If she knew someone was sick or having something going on in their lives, she was always the first one to go visit them with one of her famous homemade chicken pot pies…and her banana pudding would just melt in your mouth. She always had a smile on her face and an encouraging word to say. She never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed by her family and everyone that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jesse; her sister, Carolyn; and her husband, James Rogers.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Robin Redd-Johnston & husband Monty; her daughter Kim Reese; her grandchildren, Cody Redd, Tanner Redd, Brooke Enlow, Frank Leptinsky, & Meagan Reese. She has 14 great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends from 10:30am to 12:30pm on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Byrum Funeral Home Chapel in Lancaster. Graveside service will follow at 2:00pm at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.
