June Anderson Shipley, daughter of the late Gene and Freda Winniford Anderson:
She married Wayne Shipley on June 11, 1955 in Lancaster, TX. and he preceded her in death on February 6, 1999. She is also preceded in death by one sister, Laura Jean Anderson Jackman and three nephews, Gene Anderson Jackman, James Morrow Jackman, and Robert Nickel Jackman.
She is survived by two nieces, Shannon Barton and Vickie Gardiner and husband Gary, one great nephew, Chris Jackman and one great great nephew, Brody Jackman, both of St.
Louis, MO. June was born May 16, 1934 in Lancaster, TX and is a descendant of pioneer settlers in the area in 1845. She joined the First Christian Church in Lancaster at an early age. She was a member of many genealogical organizations such as Daughters of the American
" Revolution, Daughters of the Republic of Texas, United Daughters of the Confederacy, U.S. Daughters of 1812, Daughters of the American Colonists, Magna Charta Dames, Dallas County Pioneers, Dallas Genealogical Society and Lancaster Genealogical Society. She was employed by the Texas Company, Weyerhaeuser Company and the Dallas Arboretum and a long time volunteer at Doctor's Hospital. She attended Texas Tech College and taught Basic Beginner Genealogy for a brief period at Cedar Valley Community College.
June was a world traveler, loved English History, good books, tulips and feeding the birds on her patio. She had many pets during her life and was a devoted animal lover.
